Sliding contact line has good wear resistance

DARUI Electric recommends

For powering moving equipment, for overhead cranes, gantry cranes, double-girder cranes, single-girder cranes, electric hoists and other lifting and transport machinery, their power supply methods basically adopt safe sliding contact lines or flexible cables. Only by truly understanding the several power supply methods of crane sliding contact lines can one correctly choose the suitable sliding contact line. Angle steel sliding contact line: This is a type of sliding contact line widely used in China over the past few decades. Its advantages are saving non-ferrous metal consumption and having a sturdy and wear-resistant structure. Its disadvantages are large power loss, difficult construction, and sparks generated due to poor contact during operation, especially for some large-tonnage cranes with high load currents.

2. Rigid sliding contact line: This is a sliding contact line that uses copper as the conductive material and steel as the reinforcing material, laid on insulators. Generally, according to the magnitude of the current-carrying capacity, copper is embedded in light rails or grooved copper wires are clamped with steel clamps, and then fixed on insulators. The current-carrying capacity and the cross-sectional area of the conductor of the rigid sliding contact line are relatively large. The cross-sectional area of the conductor is generally 70~540mm2, the rated current is 300~1850A, the temperature is 95C. The sliding contact line has good wear resistance, and its performance will not degrade under harsh conditions, ensuring a long service life. It also has high mechanical strength, will not deform or bend, and is not prone to wire breakage. The rigid sliding contact line has a wide range of applications and can be widely used as sliding contact lines for cranes of various tonnages, especially suitable for large-capacity cranes and places with high temperature and dust.

3. Safe sliding contact line, this type of sliding contact line uses special-shaped copper or aluminum as the conductor, installed in a protective cover made of PVC plastic. The current collector on the crane extends from below into the protective cover to slide in contact with the conductor. No conductor is exposed, so it is called a safe sliding contact line. The current collector adopts a universal flexible structure, and the sliding contact line is not rigidly connected to the building structure, so the carbon brush on the current collector can maintain good contact with the sliding surface. In addition, the conductor is protected by an insulating cover, and the sliding surface will not accumulate dust, ensuring good contact. The safe sliding contact line can be used both indoors and outdoors, and can also be made into curved sections for electric hoists to run on curved tracks.

Another advantage of the safe sliding contact line is that the voltage drop along the line is small, thereby saving power loss during operation. This is because the phase spacing of this sliding contact line is very small, with the minimum phase spacing only 18mm and not exceeding 150mm, so the line impedance can be reduced, thereby reducing the voltage drop.
